John Becker, Independent

John Becker was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Approva Corporation from 2008 until its acquisition by Lawson Software in September 2011. Prior to Approva, Mr. Becker was CEO of Cybertrust, acquired by Verizon Business in 2007. With more than 20 years of industry expertise, Mr. Becker is a seasoned technology professional with a demonstrated and extensive track record of success. Prior to Cybertrust, Mr. Becker provided consultation to venture capital and technology firms. Before that, Mr. Becker was Chairman and CEO of AXENT Technologies, Inc. (AXENT), a publicly traded information security software and services company. Mr. Becker was instrumental in leading AXENT from start-up in 1994 to an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 1996, and finally the sale of AXENT to Symantec Corporation for approximately $1 billion. Under Mr. Becker's leadership, AXENT was consistently recognized for achieving operational and financial excellence as a Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50 and a Fast 500 award winner. Mr. Becker holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Richmond.
