Steven R. Polk, Chairman of the Board, Independent

A thirty-eight year Air Force veteran, General Polk joined the Sourcefire board in August of 2006 and was named Chairman of the Board in February 2009. Prior to joining the Sourcefire board, he retired in February of 2006 as Inspector General of the Air Force since 2003. Previously, he served as Vice Commander, Pacific Air Forces, the number two officer in the command responsible for Air Force operations in the Pacific Rim region. Other postings included command of the 19th Air Force, of three fighter wings, and of a tactical fighter squadron. General Polk graduated from the Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering, from Arizona State University with a Master of Science in Engineering, and from the Naval War College with a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies.
