Chris Peterson joined Sourcefire in July 2009 and is Senior Vice President of Worldwide Channels, Services, and Support, bringing more than 20 years of experience in sales management, channel marketing, professional services, and customer support to the company. In this position, Peterson has overall responsibility for Sourcefire's worldwide channel programs, as well as strategy, execution, and collaboration of Sourcefire's Professional Services, Education, Support, and Renewal businesses. Drawing on a track record of successfully designing and executing channel programs for security companies, he has introduced several new initiatives, including the Global Security Alliance Channel Program, to help drive market penetration and partner loyalty.
Most recently, Peterson worked as the Vice President of Worldwide Alliance and Channel Sales at ArcSight (Nasdaq: ARST) where he directed all aspects of the global channels and alliances, and helped ArcSight grow from a $60M privately held organization in 2006 to a multi-hundred million dollar public company. For the five years prior to joining ArcSight, Peterson was Vice President of Global Channel and OEM Sales at Secure Computing (now McAfee, NYSE: MFE). Before that he served as Vice President of Global Channels for Network Associates (now McAfee, NYSE: MFE). He has also held senior executive positions in alliances, channel sales and marketing, and business development with companies including Radius, Inc., Sun Microsystems and Compaq Computer.
A proven channel leader, Peterson was recognized in 2010 and 2009 as a Channel Chief by Everything Channel's CRN Magazine for his significant accomplishments in the high-tech channel sales arena.
