John Czupak, SVP, Corporate / Business Development

John Czupak serves as Senior Vice President, Corporate and Business Development at Sourcefire. He joined the company in October 2002 with extensive experience in global sales management and channel development in the security, mobile, and wireless computing markets. Prior to this assignment, Czupak was the Senior Vice President, International & Business Development at Sourcefire where he led the build out and development of Sourcefire’s international offices and teams. Czupak is now responsible for working with the Executive Team to clearly define our corporate development strategy.
Before joining Sourcefire, Czupak was the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Mountain Wave, Inc., which was acquired by Symantec Corporation in July of 2002. Prior to Mountain Wave, Czupak was the Vice President of Worldwide Channels for Riverbed Technologies, a leader in mobile and wireless computing. He subsequently became the General Manager, EMEA for Aether Systems, Inc., a leader in the wireless data market, after Aether acquired Riverbed in 2000. Czupak was responsible for developing the company's European business and sales strategy as well as achieving P&L and market share objectives. Previously, Czupak spent six years with Axent Technologies, Inc., an Internet security company where he was an original member of the management team and Vice President of Asia Pacific and Latin America. In this role he established and managed subsidiary operations throughout the Asia Pacific and Latin America regions and was responsible for developing and executing the company's sales and business strategy throughout these regions. The company grew to over $100 million in revenue from 1994 - 1999, which led to an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in April of 1996 and the later acquisition by Symantec in December of 2000 for $960 Million.
Czupak holds a B.S. in Marketing from Towson State University and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
