John Negron, SVP, Worldwide Sales

John Negron serves as Sourcefire's Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, and is responsible for growing our sales organization, our sales strategy (both channel and direct) and sales execution worldwide. He joined the company in July 2002 bringing nearly 20 years of sales and sales management experience in the software industry with a particular focus on security solutions.

Before joining Sourcefire, Negron had extensive sales leadership experience at four technology start-ups where he built direct and indirect selling teams to penetrate the federal, enterprise, SMB and international markets. He joined Sourcefire from Riverbed Technologies, a leader in mobile and wireless computing, where he was Director of Sales for two years. Riverbed was acquired by Aether Systems in 2000. Prior to that, he spent six years at Axent Technologies, Inc., an Internet security company, as Director of Federal Sales. The company grew to over $100 million in revenue from 1994-1999, which led to an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in April of 1996 and the later acquisition by Symantec in December of 2000 for $960 million. Before joining Axent, he was Sales Manager at Database Publishing Software for four years. Negron began his career at EDP Security, which was acquired by Sunguard in 1987, and rose through the sales organization of the EDP Security Division of Sunguard to the position of VP of Sales.
