Tom Ashoff, SVP, Engineering

Tom Ashoff serves as Senior Vice President, Engineering. In this position he is responsible for the company's engineering infrastructure and processes as, executing Sourcefire's aggressive product development roadmap. Ashoff joined Sourcefire in April 2003, bringing a breadth of experience in strategic and tactical product engineering for security products.
Prior to joining Sourcefire, Ashoff was Vice President, Strategic Product Engineering at Network Associates Laboratories, Network Associates (McAfee) Technology Research Division, where he directed strategic research efforts for the company. He was formerly the Vice President of Engineering for the PGP Security Business Unit of Network Associates, where he managed the development life cycle of four product lines: Desktop Privacy (PGP), Server Privacy (PGP), Vulnerability Assessment Products (CyberCop), and Network Privacy (Gauntlet). His responsibilities encompassed strategic and tactical Product Planning, Product Engineering, Quality Assurance, Technical Publications, Configuration Management, and Release Engineering. Ashoff joined Network Associates in 1998 through the acquisition of Trusted Information Systems (TIS) in 1998 where he was the Senior Development Manager for the Gauntlet Firewall and VPN products. Prior to TIS, Ashoff developed software for GTE Spacenet, Contel ASC, HRB Singer, and the National Security Agency.
Ashoff holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
