Latest Distinction Reinforces Company’s Industry Leadership

Columbia, Md., February 2, 2006 – Sourcefire, Inc., the world leader in intrusion prevention, today announced that the company has been named a Hot Companies 2006 Award winner by Info Security Products Guide, world’s leading publication on security-related products and technologies. Sourcefire was named to this list of Hot Companies, based on the strength of its products, executive management, future revenue potential and market penetration. Over the past year, Sourcefire has earned more than 15 awards for its technology and business success.

“Hackers and attacks have become more sophisticated and blended in nature. The motive is purely criminal now. At times like these Sourcefire offers real-time defense solutions,” said Rick Justice, Chief Editor at Info Security Products Guide.

Selected from an industry analysis of more than 600 info security vendors around the world, Sourcefire earned this prestigious honor based on a stern selection criteria of 4Ps, namely Products, People, Performance and Potential behind the company’s growing success. The Hot Companies selection also helps raise the bar significantly for the industry to provide end-users with effective and deployable protective solutions against the next generation of highly sophisticated and blended attacks.

“Sourcefire has built an outstanding reputation by providing customers effective solutions that meet real-world network security needs,” said Wayne Jackson, CEO of Sourcefire. “As we enter 2006, this award provides further validation of Sourcefire’s commitment to developing truly innovative technologies for our customers.”
