Sourcefire Innovation and Technology Leadership Continues to Garner Industry Recognition

Columbia, Md., February 16, 2006 – Sourcefire, Inc., the world leader in intrusion prevention, today announced that the Sourcefire 3D System was named Best Security Solution at the annual U.S. SC Magazine Awards ceremony on February 14 at the 2006 RSA Show (Nasdaq:RSAS). With over 1300 product and service nominations from more than 330 companies, the Sourcefire 3D System took top honors, further demonstrating its industry leadership and technology innovation. SC Magazine previously identified the Sourcefire 3D System as “Best IPS on the Market” in its July, 2005 issue.

In December, Sourcefire was placed in the Leaders Quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Network Intrusion Prevention System Appliances, 2H05 report and was named the top Information Security Product at the European Information Management (IM) 2005 Awards.

Earlier in 2005, Sourcefire received the Frost & Sullivan “Security Company of the Year,” award and was identified as the fastest growing IPS vendor by leading analyst firm, Infonetics. Sourcefire announced on October 6, 2005 that it signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. The acquisition is subject to closing conditions including the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 (“HSR”) and Exxon-Florio Act of 1988 and is expected to close by Q106 shortly after receiving regulatory approvals.
