Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the nation’s leading professional services organizations, ranked Sourcefire as one of Maryland’s five Rising Stars, based on its 796% revenue growth over the prior three years. “For the second year in a row, Sourcefire has been recognized by Deloitte” said Wayne Jackson, CEO of Sourcefire. “This award highlights the sales growth leadership that Sourcefire has consistently demonstrated - growth driven by innovative solutions that meet our customers’ real-world needs.” The Rising Star award is a special designation for fast-growth technology companies that have been in business just three or four years and is part of the Maryland Technology Fast 50 program, which ranks the 50 fastest growing technology companies headquartered in Maryland. Rankings are based on percentage revenue growth over three years (2002-2004). Earlier this year, Frost and Sullivan awarded Sourcefire its “Security Company of the Year” and the company was named the Most Innovative Company at the RSA Conference.In June Sourcefire was identified as the fastest growing IPS vendor by leading analyst firm, Infonetics, and was named to the AlwaysOn 100 for the second consecutive year, recognizing the company’s market momentum and innovation. Using other companies’ technology in a unique way does not qualify. Rising Star winners are automatically entered in Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 Rising Star category.
