Microsoft Jet, Trend Micro OfficeScan and YaSSL

The Sourcefire VRT is aware of multiple vulnerabilities affecting products from Microsoft, Trend Micro and YaSSL.

Details: 

Microsoft Jet Database Engine Buffer Overflow (CVE-2008-1092): The Microsoft Jet Database Engine contains a programming error that may allow a remote attacker to execute code via Microsoft Word.
 
Rules to detect attacks targeting this vulnerability are included in this release and are identified with GID 3, SIDs 13626, 13629, 13630, 13633 and 13634.
 
YaSSL Buffer Overflow (CVE-2008-0226): The YaSSL libraries as used by a number of products contain multiple buffer overflow vulnerabilities that may allow a remote attacker to execute code on an affected system.
 
A rule to detect attacks targeting this vulnerability is included in this release and is identified with GID 1 and SID 13593.
 
Trend Micro OfficeScan Buffer Overflow (CVE-2008-1365): Trend Micro OfficeScan contains a stack overflow that may allow a remote attacker to execute code on an affected system or cause a Denial of Service (DoS) on the process.
 
A rule to detect attacks targeting this vulnerability is included in this release and is identified with GID 1 and SID 13591.
 
The Sourcefire VRT has also added multiple rules in the web-client and specific-threats categories to provide coverage for emerging threats.
