Vulnerability Affecting ISC BIND [CVE-2009-0696]

The Sourcefire VRT is aware of a vulnerability affecting ISC BIND.
Details:
ISC BIND Dynamic Update DoS (CVE-2009-0696): The ISC BIND daemon suffers from programming errors that may allow a remote attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) attack against a vulnerable system. The problem applies to DNS servers using BIND that are configured to be the master server for a zone. A rule to detect attacks targeting this vulnerability is included in this release and is identified with GID 3, SID 15734.
