DoD Directive 8500.1 "Information Assurance"

Is Your SIPRnet Enclave Protected?

Sourcefire, the Creators of Snort, offer a best in class series of IDS/IPS sensors that have been NIAP/EAL-2 certified. DoD Directive 8500.1 — Information Assurance Implementation — requires that critical AIT assets be protected with an intrusion detection system. These requirements extend to both classified and unclassified networks.

Sourcefire's 3D System provides the flexibility needed to protect your enclave. Our intrusion sensors have full capability to operate in a stand-alone fashion in small enclaves where implementation of an enterprise solution is neither practical nor cost-effective. Conversely, should your network environment grow, Sourcefire can grow with it by implementing our Defense Center for management of multiple sensors from a single platform.

With Sourcefire's Plug and Protect technology, our customers can rapidly deploy a sensor in minutes. Built-in wizards and default Policy Sets combined with all the flexibility of embedded Snort will rapidly bring your network into compliance.

The Sourcefire Intrusion Sensor user–interface or GUI allows for easy navigation and management of each individual sensor, but also allows more sophisticated users to import, edit and create their own Snort rule sets if desired. You will have Snort, the industry standard for threat detection, rapidly deployed with none of the challenges of building your own sensors.
